RAW vs H264 on the professional field

Here is some of my recent work shooting between raw and h264 so you can see the difference

I like the 60P to 24P... was it shot at 60P or 60P overridden to 48?

i think with some log picture style you can get a lot more out of H.264.

It was graded on Adobe ACR.

All the H264 footage was on cinestyle picture profile. I just took the takes that are more overexpose so you can see the difference on recording on raw how much you can get, I also have some footage on underexpose or low light but it´s not so much of a difference and I still have to play with the noise reduction parameters because there is too much noise in the dark areas when I pull up.

So h264 was ungraded right? Just cinestyle profile took out of camera with no CC and no sharpening? Well, seems like a not very fair comparison. But very very nice professional video though, didn't you have problems with ACR flickering? Maybe you could make such a comparison but ACR vs resolve? Still cannot definetely decide which workflow to choose, ACR gives more recovery possibilities while resolve is so much faster. The most of cool looking videos came out from ACR because of those easy recovery value...

Yea I was going to say it was pretty obvious the h.264 was ungraded and the RAW shots were. so from that aspect kind of unfair but I just love how you can pull the highlights back that first scene was probably the best example of that on the balcony.

Well, the thing with comparing raw vs h264 is that you don't have an "ungraded" footage on raw, is the way you process the data, If i wanted i could just grade the raw just like the H264 (sharpening to 0, high contrast to lose the sky), thats the beauty of the raw, you could process it to match any other footage (canon, sony, red, alexa), or make it just flat to grade it later in the final editing.

Well, to my eye raw was "overgraded" and did not look natural. In fact in this case I would prefer the h.264 version
