Hi - this might sound a dumb question, but I'm trying to install a nightly build and when I do my camera says that it cannot reformat because firmwire file was not found. From what I can see in the nightly build folder there is no .fir file, so am I missing a step?

I've attached a screenshot of both my downloaded folder's contents, and what I've put over to my SD card.

My steps have been to download the nightly build from here: http://nanomad.magiclantern.fm/nightly/archive/2013-07-28-728e571a1276/
then to drag the files across as normal.

Thanks everyone!

Steve Ryan

I'd really like to see this one answered.  I have successfully tried the alpha on my 5D3, but I have no clue how to get the nightly build installed.

Use the .fir from ML 2.3 for your camera.
