Before I install ML Alpha 3 in my new 5D Mark III I wanted to clear few things out.

I read this note,

NOTES
THIS VERSION OF MAGICLANTERN HAS AUTOBOOT DISABLED
Which means you'll have to re-run the firmware update every time you power off the camera.
It's a safety measure, so don't ask to remove it until the port is stabler

So what happens when I install ML Alpha 3? Would it boot to Canon default menu or I have to run the firmware to use the camera?

Will I have all the default Canon features for Still photo if I install the ML Alpha 3?

Thanks.

You dont install ml. You boot it from the fir.
Ml is btw NEVER installed into flash in any way, it just enables autoboot from card.

"Installing" a fir just causes ml to boot

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the wrong terminology.

So if I have ML Alpha 3 in the SD card and turn the camera on I will get the normal Canon menu, right? To get the ML to work I will need to rerun the firmware update. Is that correct?

ML does not substitute Canon stuff, it just works on TOP of it.
You always have acces to everything Canon has put into the camera right out of the factory.
