Autofocus Limits

During video and sport shooting modes I sometimes find the autofocus gets lost looking for a clear image impossibly close. Sometimes you know that your subject will never be closer than X. Could we find a way to setup a limit on how close autofocus tries to go?

Great idea.
I think it can be similar to some of the last Sigma lens that you can customize after connect it to a Usb docking station.
You can program it choosing between various modes and if I remember correctly also limit the focus range to achieve faster focusing.
