I'm going on a trip through morocco in a month and while I don't have a subject to organize a film around, I'd like to take my 50d on a trial run.  Sort of like video-notes or ethnography.

So I need some gear advice!   I want to keep it light and hand-held (unless someone knows a particularly inobtrusive frame-mount solution).  i'm thinking I need:

a (mountable) external sound solution
a battery case that could work with the above
batteries
maybe another Komputerbay 1000x 64gb
possibly a better general purpose IS lens (my current walking around lens is a sigma dg 28-70 2.8-4)

and I look forward to any additional advice you pros and semi-pros can give about outfitting for such a task.
Thanks!

Get a 10-22mm lens you really need it to capture great landscapes and next to it 28-105 to have more to zoom and with these two would be enough to cover most things.

Zoom h1 if you want to keep it small and simple also nice to just put in a pocket with a lavalier mic so people could walk around without having the mic attached to the camera.
