Has anyone tried this? The duration could be adjusted in postproduction, and audio wouldn't be an issue if it was recorded independently with something like a zoom h4n (h6) or tascam. I'm just curious if it might be a method to get past that 12 minute limit, and closer to the 29.5minute limit imposed by european regulation.

Shouts out to the admins... Magic Lantern is great! :)

I don't think it is a 12minute limit, it is a 4gb limit.
One could shoot at 640x480 and record for around half an hour.
Or I think one could drop the bitrate down and record for longer.

It's 4GB or 29min59sec.
Yes, you can record for longer than 30 mins by recording at 30fps and use fps override to get 24fps. You should get 6 more minutes this way. Still, if you hit the 4GB limit recording will stop.

That is AWESOME!!!!! 30 minutes is a *whole* lot more reasonable than 12 minutes.

Thanks for sharing. This should be plugged somewhere in the FAQ or otherwise. Going to put my SDXC 128 gig on order so I can do this with raw.
