Has anyone tried and had any success with photographing bats leaving their roost, either using "Trap Focus" or "Motion detection" ?

I've tried TF but without success so far...
I guess it might be because they are small and FAST and the fact that it's getting quite dark by the time they come out.

This roost has around a hundred (common pipistrelle) bats with a fairly predictable initial flight path so plenty of opportunities to try.
I will continue to experiment but any help would be appreciated :)

Edit:
I tried to take bat pictures but without ML functions.
I use multi flash (usually 4 flashes) setup.
If you figure out their path in the air then you just need some practice and good luck to take some good images.

Great photos, it would be interesting to figure out a way to do it with Magic Lantern and a flash setup. Maybe incorporate the motion detect with the multi flash setup mentioned. I will be interested to know if you find a way to do this.
