Jayb, I think the files you are using from the post you are mentioning are from the 28th of august, it maybe that the build is very old. Try using a newer build:

Cheers. Have installed the latest version, no change – still getting around 140 frames. I can't seem to get the buffer from 151MB to 255MB unless I leave the cam set in photo mode, as soon as I switch to video mode I get 151MB again. If I record using photo mode (when it shows I have 255MB) I get less frames, around 122. Also very buggy and crashes a lot if I shoot in photo mode.

Make sure the memory hack is on in the advanced menu and photo quality is raw. You don't have to record in photo mode for that.

Also, FYI,  with the memory hack the memory only gets taken when you start recording... as in you won't have it once it stops and it will go back to 155.

NOV3'rd is the latest I put up.

Yep, done that. Still cannot get beyond around 140 frames.

I can't open that zip file, seems corrupt / incompatible with OSX?

Same problem, it won't unzip on a Mac.

Thought it may be an issue with Mavericks (OSX 10.9) but it won't open in Mountain Lion either (OSX 10.8 )

It's the native unarchiver for mac, I used a different one I had and it worked fine. Download it from this link and you shouldn't have any more issues (it's only been unzipped then rezipped).

woop woop just got 2 new sandisk extreme plus (80mb read/ 60mb write)

getting 40.5mb  WITH GD on and Canon preview = continuous at 1600x640 (2.50:1)
40.7mb without GD and hacked preview = 1140 frames at 1664x666, not worth the minimal gain with hacked preview

MUCH better results than my lexar pro 600x which i've paid more than double the price of the sandisk extreme plus

Ok, so, I'm stupid I guess, but what's the difference between hacked mode and non hacked? And how do I switch between?

This is a great thread guys btw.
