Ok, so I have this SD card: http://www.sandisk.co.uk/products/memory-cards/sd/extreme-uhs-1-45mbs/?capacity=16GB
It distinctly says 'Write speeds up to 45MB/s' however when I put it into my camera it says this - http://i.imgur.com/YDqC2WH.png.
For those that don't know, if the text is orange/yellow then it means the card is too slow.

Basically, the card says it should write at up to 45MB/s and it only does 18-20 and I am unsure on how to sort it out. Any suggestions on what to do? (I also have a 550d/T2i if that could effect it?)

Thanks, Chris

I cannot confirm this. I use a fast Sandisk inside my cam (650D) and text is yellow even at the lowest setting.
Please run the benchmark tests with both modes (photo and video):

550D is max 21MB/s - interface limit... but this card should be able to pull constant 20Mb or 21MB and a C10 card will not, would only burst at those speeds usually.

Latipsify

Oh, ok then. Thanks for the help. Do you think there's any way of boosting this speed?

Reflow station + canon FW rewrite.

Could you provide some links of some kind to help me out please?

One option would be to purchase a second hand 50D *now* before the price will go up (if it is not too late already).

And 1%'s message has to been read as "Not within the scope of the ML project until hell freezes over!".  To bypass the limits the controller has to be replaced and after that Canon's firmware. Wouldn't happen though.

Haha, fair enough then. I don't really have the money to buy a 50D so I'll stick with my 550D for now and maybe upgrade in a few years.

Thanks for the help, Chris.
