I was very impressed with the improvement in video ISO capabilities and was wondering...can one expect the same level of improvement in still photography?

Compared to.what? You got 14bit raw for stills already.

Aah...compared to an image without Magic Lantern.

The still images won't change in quality, they already have full RAW from the sensor.  The only improvement would be the use of a RAW histogram, but that falls on the ability of the operator.  The only possible improvements would be the added iso values to a few of the cameras and additional exposures for bracketing.
