Hello people,

I have no problem with RAW2CDNG, as it is a really great app.
But I have still the problem with the pink highlights in Premiere CC 7.2.1 :-(
And strangely, only in Premiere! In After Effects, and in the ACR Pink higlights are not seen.
What must adjust in Premiere?
It does not matter what I set in RAW2CDNG, only In Premiere I have the Pink Horror. :-(

greeting
its not premiere problem. magic lantern problem. alex have been working hard to fix  it. he succesfully fix for 5d mark iii. im sory i got u now. make sure you check the partymode to get rid of it.

@Wartburg-Entertainment

What camera, RAW2CDNG settings are you using?  (It helps to put all your specs in your user profile signature).  I had that same issue in 1.4.8.  In 1.4.9 I do not.  Latest version is... http://dl.phreekz.de/raw2cdng/raw2cdng.1.4.9.zip

My settings are like this...

I get no pinkish output but still the hot/sensels problem exists.
Gear: Canon 5D Mark III, 60D, EF 70-200L, EF 85mm, EF 50mm, EF 10-22mm.  Platform: Dual Boot Win 7 Ultimate x64/Mavericks Hackintosh, PPro CC, LR5.

Hi guys,

I use on my 7d currently still Tragiclantern because MagicLantern is not stable.
And I have version 1:49 of RAW2CDNG.
And believe me, I've got all the settings through 10,12, 16bit - with and without Tiff Model.
Only Premiere shows this pink highlights!!!

CDNG's Without Party Mode? Really?

Edit:no Partymode - brings no Improvement.....

duey101

Make sure you have Gamma at 1.0, check the box for partymode and then try moving any files you want to encode into the same folder as raw2cdng, I think that is what I did, might be worth a try.  Also use the latest nightly build.  I was having that same problem and I checked/unchecked partymode and tried 10,12,16 bit and all that but I think it was when I set the Gamma to 1.0 is when it fixed it.  Make sure about the Gamma setting.

I've always gamma 1 and level the problem only in Premiere.
Even in the media browser, the small preview files are all pink.
Will now test the build of Magic Lantern nighly, let's see
what it is so new insights there.

for some reason I can not make it work by dropping MLV file even from another partition/disk .
I can see the Command line window for a moment but nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong ?
Thanks

Vsevolod

I have the same problem. Windows 8.1

duey101

The contents of your folder should look like this...

I named my folder raw2CDNG, and it looks as above.  I dragged one MLV and one RAW file in there and it started working from then.  You need to have mlv_dump.exe (http://upload.g3gg0.de/pub_files/fb196456f6a6389763cab895fb6067f8/mlv_dump.exe) in the same folder otherwise you'll just get that brief command window popup.  In my testing you need to have everything all in the same folder including the MLV/RAW files...

Set your settings (as in the previous picture, then with all the contents of your folder looking as above, drag the MLV file onto the raw2cdng window, it should pop open the command window and look like this...

See if that helps.

copy and paste the mlv file to another drive and try drag and drop from that drive... you dont have to copy everything. copy only the mlv file

I did try that and it doesnt work

duey101

Okay, well it certainly works and I am on the same OS (Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1).  Here is a video screen capture to show usage...

So just keep slugging away and you'll get it to work.  Your missing something somewhere but I don't know where.  Can you drop a .RAW file into the GUI?  Are the Output path and Tif Model tag check boxes checked?  Look at the video and duplicate what you see and it should work as you can see it does.

1. Download raw2cdng 1.4.9.zip  http://dl.phreekz.de/raw2cdng/raw2cdng.1.4.9.zip
2. Extract it into a folder called raw2CDNG.  You will get 2 files in the zip, mlv_dump.exe and raw2cdng.1.4.9.exe.
3. Copy one MLV and one RAW file into the same directory as the installed files.
4. Double click on the raw2cdng.exe file, the GUI opens.
5. Drag your MLV file from the same folder as where the program is onto the open raw2cdng GUI (program window).
6. The mlv_dump.exe command box should open and start extracting the MLV and then when it is finished you will see the RAW file in the GUI.  Then all you need to do is export it where you want to.

I can drag and drop files from the desktop, SD card, C drive, D drive, it all works.

gideonplus

Yes it works OK only with the RAW file

Works on a different disk. Sorry.)

chmee

please describe it with some details, so i can fix it. on my computer i tested from different places, and it worked all the time, no matter if desktop, root or some other directories.

* filesystem (ntfs? fat32? static or dynamic hard drive/partition?)
* language?
* os?
* whole directory-chain?

if its not too intimate :)

..mainly "file not found error" is the problem, caused by white spaces (or other "not so fine" characters) in directory- or filename.

* small fix - raw2cdng 1.4.9.2
- mlv-convert-process-output written into debuglog
- put filenames into quotationmarks in commandline-process
http://dl.phreekz.de/raw2cdng/raw2cdng.1.4.9.2.zip

i assume the space in
E:\Gideons Pictures\2013_12_31\M15-0918.MLV
will be the problem.

@chmee  I have been doing lots of testing and also testing for pink frames on my 60D and now it seems to have been fixed.  Did some more experimenting with conversions.  Still getting the odd pixels/sensels in raw2cdng but if I convert with raw2dng_escho.exe the files are perfect.  Here is a raw2dng_escho file for your reference (Canon 60 D / MZ 5X mode / mlv_rec.mo @ 1280x720)

OK you have nailed the problem (the fix doent help it by the way but I have renamed the Dirctories)
some new thing:
in Premiere my futage the was 25fps was showing like it is 24fps
so I have checked the DMG metha data and in the FrameRate Field
it was 24fps which is wrong and should be 25fps

Another question that I have is:
Does in Resolve 10, the dng-sequence and audio file will be recognised automatically and in synch , As Well ?

Thanks

no it wont. only c2dng syncs that too only in premiere pro. c2dng is  the best and i always use in all my projects since u can cut directly in premiere pro.its even better now by syncing audio which makes my workflow much easier and fast
5D Mark III - 70D

chmee

@gideonplus thats correct, i nailed it to static 24fps, because there've been more important things to solve - and changing framerate is the less difficult problem in fi premiere.. its the same with timecode - i could use "timeofday" but by now i start simply at 01:00:00:00

by the way: could you show a debuglog with mlv_dump-error with version 1.4.9.2? i thought, this could solve the problem :)

@ chmee

Can you please help me with my Premiere CC CDNG problem.
So the MLV files all come from a 7D with last Tragic Lantern.
I can open the DNG in Premiere, but the settings of ACR are not included in Premiere.
And now the main problem, as already described here I have only completely pink in the highlights and in the over-exposure.
Today I again several MLV transformed with the new 1.4.9.2. - No improvement. Is it Windows 8.1 or Tragic Lantern or or ...?
