seems so!
i got a lexar CF 16GB 800x
and raw rec on MKIII doesnt work like a thought... so i need a better card like the komputerbay 1000x 64gb
btw. if i want to use the cam without Magic Lantern and i put the SD Card with Magic lantern off the cam... The Camera asks: "update file cannot be found. please check the memory card and reload the camera battery"
What can i do to use the cam without Magic Lantern?

turn cam on with card in. Once ML boots, do a format of the card(in camera). That way you'll be able to boot with or without card(but no ML)

I tried the Lexar 64gb 1000 x rated at "up to 150" read and "up to 145" write.

*CrystalDiskMark test gave 120 read and 103 write.
*In ML 1920 x 1080 Raw record it is at 82-83.
But when trying to do 1920 x 1280 I still only get 82-83..

Sugestions?
I am thankful that Jesus and MagicLantern exist, because they both change lives!

I just bought a used Lexar 64GB 1000x UDMA 7 which arrived today and the test of the card shocked me...
I got hilarious 50 MB/s writing speed in RAW Recording and the buffer was full after 1 secs at a resoloution of 1920x1080 at 24p
(NO I didn't fail in selecting the right card...I selected the Lexar CF).

I am completly speechless and i hope anyone of you can tell me that i didn't waste my 250$ for this card and this is just a ML problem...

Just picked up two 32gb 1000x lexar cards, running into the same problem as you with the May 22nd build. Writing speed is being clocked at 20mb/s. Switched over to the May 20th build, the same cards are being clocked at 82mb/s, could record 1920x1080p without skipped frames for 1191 frames (4gb limit?). Not sure what the problem is with the new build, highly doubt it's the card since it works smoothly with the previous build

if you experience writing problems with the 22nd build, try the 20th build from cinema5d, chances are your card is fine especially if it's a new fast lexar card, thats why they cost a bomb! same thing happened to me on 25th but everything's perfect on the 20th. just recorded and opened a 11gb with the latest raw2dng without a hitch. the most stable so far but vertical banding's still exist. can be easily solved by 50 points luminance on noise reduction.

I have 2.3 installed on my 50D with the raw modules from:
https://bitbucket.org/GregoryOfManhattan/magic-lantern/downloads/09june13-50D-45e63064ec08-70MB.zip

I just purchased a Lexar 32Gb 1000x CF card and am having difficulty attaining any kind of write speed above 60Mbps even with GlobalDraw off.

Edit. I bought the card from B&H so I hope it would be a legit one and not a knock off.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

Having the same issue myself.  Trying to figure out if I'm the problem or not.

so the 600x has a sustained speed of 90mb/s, while the 800x are MUCH slower?

The formula to compute the transfer rate:
150Kbps(standard transfer) x nnn;  for example a 600x card is (150x600) = 90Mbs.

Hardware Interface
It really depends on the hardware interface of your camera, if it supports higher UDMA. Be aware of the camera's feature.
Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UDMA

If you are using Canon 50D (UDMA 6 capable) based on the specifications: Should be capable of 130Mb/s.

But of course, some manufacturer's are out of specs. So,buyer beware; buy from legit store, return it back and you can argue the case; but then they can argue that the camera is out of spec. You can't win, it happened to me! In the end, they gave me a higher transfer rate card and I paid the difference.

 :-)

I have a 32GB Lexar 600x and I'm quite happy with writing speeds just over 70mbs. It seems to be an overachiever. Looks like you cant buy them anymore but the better 1000x speed cards are $125 for 32GB.
5DC, 5D2, 5D3, EOS M, too many lenses.

For the record...
You should benchmark in Playback mode to find the fastest card speeds.  Your test is in Movie mode

Isnt the Movie mode the one that actually matters?
I had a KB, which failed, performing so damn well in Playback mode, and doing so bad when actually using it real "filming" :(

Benchmark was developed to measure maximum speed performance at different cluster size.  Very strange if your card had excellent playback write speed and poor movie recording.

I believe during playback-benchmarking there is less use of the CPU so that the highest recording speed can be obtained and compared to what the manufacturer claims.  If you benchmark in movie mode then there are a lot of settings that can slow down recording so it is not recommended to test in this mode.

Hey everyone, just went to buy a Lexar 600x for my 50D, and found a seller on eBay selling 8GB 600x cards for $24- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/301096387223
and others selling for $30. I had a look for 16gb and 32gb and they're $100+
Is there any chance the 8GB could be a fraud? I know its a small card but I'm not intending to film long shots.
Would this mean I can get 90mbps speeds from a $24 card?!

Yes that's the Lexar 800x, but according the OP the 8-32gb cards max out at 45mbps, while strangely enough all the 600x cards can write at 90mbps. I need at least 70mpbs to record 24fps on the 50D, so 800x won't cut it unless I buy the 64gb, which is $120. That's why this 8GB 600x looks such a good deal.

"That's why this 8GB 600x looks such a good deal." Based on industry standard, 600x should give you 90MB/s speed, normally that is the read speed. Check the manufacturer's specification and manufacturers (believe it or not) are out of spec. on speed rating.
