I tried the black out a while ago, it would fight with other overlays.

1808 is the biggest LV raw image it makes. It changes if you use zoom/60p, etc. We can't resize the raw buffer or yuv yet. Maybe something will come from ADTG/CMOS again but its not trivial to make happen.

Finally made it through the post workflow. I went with raw2dng -> lightroom corrections -> Tiff -> Davinci Resolve -> Proxy -> Final Cut -> XML -> Davinci Resolve -> Prores 4444 -> Final Cut -> h.264. I wish the video could better highlight the benefits of raw, but for me it helps hide my shooting errors and lets me manage/correct my photos and videos with lightroom. Thanks again to the ML team and 1%!

нашел ошибку в 6д с прошивкой МЛ, исо не изменяется стандартным способом, при нажатии на кнопку исо и выборе нужного значения, нечего не происходит. исо изменяется только через меню прошивки МЛ, а стандартными средствами не как.
found a bug in the firmware 6d ML, iso does not change the standard way, when you click on the ISO and select desired value, nothing happens. iso only changes the menu ML firmware, and not as a standard means.

11: From the zip in step 1, once again extract and run EOScard.exe. Check the EOS_DEVELOP and BOOTDISK boxes and press save.

12: Navigate to your SD Card and delete (DON'T FORMAT) all the files you can see there.

13: From the zip in step 1, extract all of the files and folders contained within the "Files to run Magic Lantern on 6D Firmware 1.1.3" folder and drag them into the route directory of your SD Card.

Thanks for posting this! However, I had to do step 12, 13, then step 11. EOScard.exe gave me an error unless the ML files were already on the card.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, after updating to 1.1.3 in step 10 I think I erased all of the files from the card. Maybe that was my error. Even so, if you change the order of these steps so that step 11 is after step 13 then it would be more foolproof.

Also, the "once again" part of step 11 made me think I was already supposed to have run EOScard.exe at some point. But running EOScard.exe is not in any previous step. I would remove the words "once again" to prevent confusion. I'm a professional programmer and I got confused by this. Combined with the error I got, I thought I had missed a step.

hey noisyboy, can u please specify which file from the zip file in step one i should extract to my sd card , i extracted the  the 6d000212.fir file  first to my sd card but when i try to upgrade my firmware it says you need a card with the fimware, or isit any other file from the group of files i should be extracting. i tried to extract all the files but even then it says you need a card with the firmware. sorry i am not tht tecnical.

finally got ml .. thanks a million

Got several crashes since updating to the last built. Also the camera used to make weird peep sounds.
Neither I  had better writing speed/resolution results on it, so I changed the modules and autoexe back to the one before that was running great.

Now the camera doesn't start anymore on this card.

Should you always add the modules from the newest built to the existing ones or just replace the whole folder?

What were you doing when you got the crashes. There has to be a way to reproduce them.

Autoexec + sym go together. Modules depend on the sym file, if something new is there then you have to update autoexec + sym, otherwise you're fine.

Camera crashed when recording or even without. Unfortunately I deleted the logs, cause the last time you said you can't work with it when I put it in here.

What is sym?

The sym file is in the modules folder when you download the update.

asombrir

I found if you have some mixed files, or if you forgot to add them all you will have a crash. I suggest updating your card before a shoot just to make sure you have all the current files.

Night before the shoot, lol.

I haven't had any crashes on startup so if you're having them something is missing.

ML/MODULES should have

Sym Fie
Modules you want

Don't turn on autoload modules and just let them all load, pick what you want.

i.e don't load raw_rec + my_rec + bolt_rec and expect no crashes.. there isn't enough memory to do this and they would conflict. The .dis files mean that the module is disabled, if you delete them the module will load again... like setting it to on.

Are the DNG frames compressed in any way?
Canon CR2 IS compressed, altough losslessly i think.
The fact that the file size in RAW goes up with high ISO is a clear demonstration of that.
It would be nice to know how it works but i guess everybody wants to know that.

Not right now. The MLV format I think will compress them.

It goes up because higher ISO = more data. On 600D the H264 would grow when you raised the ISO, on 6D its not so noticeable. I don't know if I noticed it going up with the raw at all. The extra data is mostly noise tho.

ilguercio

Yeah but if file size varies then for sure we got compression, even if it's lossless.
CR2 is compressed for sure, altough losslessly, and i think our DNGs are not compressed.
Let's see what you can come up with.

Why does that have to point to compression. Can't it simply point to Raw1 at 200ISO has xMB of data, raw2 at 3200iso has xMB of data.

Take all white or all black shots.. they are ~13.6MB, the only thing that causes difference is the embeded jpeg preview because thats lossy compression.

ilguercio

Enabling Wi-Fi gives you 255M of Shoot Memory instead of 151.
I think it is nice to know :)

So does the LV ON/oFF hack, but the wifi monitoring isn't so bad.

Read the dual ISO thread. I'm not sure how to process a 20GB video tho, the tool doesn't seem too good on batch. Because while the photos are nice, ISOless raw video seems where its at.
