Welcome ,
i have RC-6 remote that i use on my 600D/T3i camera
i can take pictures with the remote only when i put (Self-timer:10sec/Remote control) option
the thing that i want is making the remote works in the (Self-timer:Continues) shooting mode
so is it possible to add option to make the IR-Receiver "On" all the time ?
which can be used in all modes and like when pressing the shutter button in the camera ?
Sorry for my little speak but hope u can understand me .

Probably possible.

I've researched the IR interface a while ago here: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/ml-devel/bsZyPX2kEZ4/mtmlUL-WGcoJ

and had some success in detecting the IR pulses from a regular TV remote. Feel free to continue the investigation.

Oh , Nice !
hope someone can add the option to ML
to make the IR-Receiver "ON" when choosing other modes than the  (Self-timer:10sec/Remote control) mode
because the camera turns the IR-Receiver to "OFF" when u choose any other mode | maybe for power saving ?
i really want the feature and exactly in the (Self-timer:Continues) mode..

could the IR remote trigger movie recording? I understand that there's a 2-second delay and instant-shutter switch on the remote, can we make it so that one switch trigger photo shutter, and the other to trigger movie recording?

Caon RC-1 remote works exactly what you want.

Will be awesome to have an option to remap two standard Canon IR signals (S and 2S) to custom functions, like magic zoom, start/stop video and focus (I known about standard functionality, but without photo capture before start recording it will be better)
