I did a search, found 1 relevant thread and followed the steps, but I still don't see the meter.  :-[ I will try to be brief and detailed...

Canon settings:
Manual
Spot Meter

ML settings:
(green dots)
Globaldraw quickreview
Zebras: LumaFast
Spotmeter: 0-255
rack focus has a yellow triangle
stack focus: Snap stepsize 10

Those seem to be the relevant things, but tell me if I'm in the wrong place. I've seen the spot meter before, the very small square with a 0-255 number.

Thanks in advance...

Try changing the global draw option

Changed GV to Liveview, dots go red, no meter, changed to ON, all modes, no meter.

Just to be clear, what I remember seeing is in Liveview, a very small little box, (the 'spot') with a value displayed next to it (in my case 0-255). That's correct, right?

Is the next step maybe to delete the files from the card and re-install ML?

nanomad

Not everything, just the files inside ML/SETTINGS

Where do I find those files? I do not find them in an unzipped folder in my 'puter, only on the camera card. Or do I just delete the 2 files in the settings folder, and ML re-creates them?

nanomad

ML will create them for you
BTW if you see two files it means you have at least one hidden menu option. I guess that's the spot meter

Deleted the 2 .cfg files in the 'settings' folder', and still no meter. Global draw is 'on, all modes',  spot meter is on  both in Canon and ML, and location is 'center'.

Is my memory correct? It's a tiny little box with numbers next to it? And it should show in Live view?

Switching to ML while in Liveview, all the green dots go red.

Press INFO/DISP a bunch of times until all canon overlays disappear

That did it. Thank you muchly. :)

So, do you have any idea how I got to that point? Is it because of resetting to default,  or just a little bug?

nanomad

Resetting camera settings to default did it
