I just tried read-write speed benchmark on my 5D3. My CF Card is Kingston 600x Ultimate.(http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/cf-u3_us.pdf)

I was not expected 90 mb/s read-write speed but benchmark says its around 20mb/s. It's same as my SD card. What's wrong or what did i miss?

Spec in megabits or that is read speed?

Kingston is slow... I looked at their sd cards trying to find a 128gb locally... no good.

Also could be spec'd for a different UDMA interface that 5d3 doesn't support... as with 6D and 208mhz UHS.

Specs says not megabit, its megabyte. Also 600x -almost- standard speed isn't it?

Not expecting 90 Mb/s but 50-60 Mb/s ok for me. But 20Mb/s is average sd card speed.

And yes Kingston is slow. This charts also says that. Around 55 Mb/s write speed. But still better than 20Mb.

I also found this page. It says "If you want to take full advantage of your professional CF card, leave the SD slot alone"
http://www.borrowlenses.com/blog/2013/01/tip-optimize-canon-5d-markiii-write-speeds-avoid-sd-cards/

If i am not wrong, there is no way to use ML on CF Cards.

No, doesn't apply. Those X numbers are marketing bullshit. What UDMA mode does it use to get that speed and does 5d3 support it?

Article just says don't write to SD and CF at the same time or it will slow down the CF... so I guess recording raw to one card and something like sound to another might be out.

Just tried ATTO benchmark test on my PC. I guess my card isn't real 600x. Its 133x-200x. Maybe it's fake, i don't know.

Left side is mine result. Right is from GAVTrain

Also your reader plays a factor... I think speeds like 90MB/s need USB3

ozcancelik

Both USB 3.0(Mainboard slot and reader) Also USB 2.0 limit is 480Mbps(60Mb/s) not 20-25Mb? I have tried ATTO on my 16 Gb. transcend flash it shows 35 mb read speed.  My CF looks like slower than flash memory :)

Anyway thank you so much for your attention.

Final word:
DO NOT BUY KINGSTON 600X COMPACT FLASH CARD! In computer benchmark says 60-70 Mb/s(finally). In camera it's only 30Mb/s. Weird!!!

Hi, I have 4 Kingston Ultimate 600x 16GB and I have tested all of them with my 5d3 shooting raw video...
At 1920X818 I can shoot with live view working normally (not hacked) continuous...
At 1920X960 I can shoot with liveview hacked about 1200 fps.
At 1920X1080 I can shoot 320-350 fps.
So to tell u the truth Im very pleased with those cards if u think that I paid 30euros/piece and I can shoot raw video with 1920X960 res most times except avoid to shoot coninuous more than 1200 fps (1200fps = 50 secs with 24p)..
Ofc I didnt buy these for raw video but for my photography work and now ML has done Magic again I can shoot raw without problems..
Finally ML benchmark tests gives 67mb/s - 74mb/s...

Don't know which ones you've got, but mine are capped at around 21 mb/s... Really regret buying them seeing as they were advertised as having a write speed of around 90 mb/s but instead it's the same as my Kingston 133x. Looking for an alternative now

Missing information:
