On the 550D, when reviewing images you can press the Q button to bring up the ML overlays.

Is this possible on 5D3?

I think light button does it on 6D. So its one of those.

a1ex, any chance of getting RAW displays in this mode?

In playback you would have to decode the CR2 to show raw info. Not easy.
