I bought a Canon 7D today. but the firmware is 7.7.7 8A.7C.4D

Can you try to load the alpha 2?

It will compute a checksum of the executable Canon code, so it will refuse to load if the firmware is different. There is a tiny chance (0.1%?) that the firmware might be identical to 2.0.3 and only the properties (settings area) are different.

So, you will probably just get a blank screen; if so, take the battery out. If ML does start though, this would save a couple of hours of researching.

I tried. It runs on my 7d.

Then, your firmware is plain 2.0.3, with service options enabled.

wait, this is ML on the camera with firmware 7.7.7 8A.... ?
if yes: can you delete the ROMx.BIN in ML\LOGS\ (or was it ML\DATA\?), then start ML again, wait 10 sec and upload these files using http://upload.g3gg0.de/ ?

And in ML\LOGS\ there are two files, ROM0.BIN and ROM1.BIN. should i delete both?
then just upload *.bin files?

if i turn off camera, ML is gone, i need upgrade once again. so the files looks like same.
BTY the file has been uploaded.

Hi,

I bought a Canon 7D and I have the same problem.
My firmware is exactly the same.
I have now installed Magic Lantern, which have some custom settings configured. I have reset settings, uninstall ML, but the firmware still the same.
