Two new DSLRs and still no 1080/60? What is going on...?

Ask canon :P

They probably don't want to hurt the market of video cameras, that's what's going on. Just look at the 1Dc  ::)
EOS 1100D | EOS 650 (No, I didn't forget the D) | Ye Olde Canon EF Lenses ('87): 50 f/1.8 - 28 f/2.8 - 70-210 f/4 | EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 | Metz 36 AF-5

The H.264 encoder in digic V cannot do 60P (720 is a diff mode). Even adding mjpeg pushing the HD buffer to 60P is a problem. I did it last night on 6D with a garbled image. On top of that add the bandwith problems.

I read the Canon SX280 P&S with the Digic 6 can do 60p. Canon baffles me why they didn't upgrade the 700D or 100D with Digic 6. :-/

I could live with 720/60- if it worked properly damn it!!! 1% I really hope you are right about the update- they really need to fix the re-sizing issues because it is not usable at all!
