Has anyone tried shooting 24p on a T3 using undercranking of a 720 30p format?  I'm assuming the file produced would play at 30p and would be imported into an editor like FCP at that rate.  So then you could tell FInal Cut to play it back at 80% and it would be normal speed.  And if you wanted to be really fancy, you could record separate sound, head AND tail slate it, mark the IN and OUT points on both the audio and video, and then do a "Fit to Fill" command with the audio and it would be in sync.  It this correct?

If this was your workflow, you could just conform the footage from 30 to 24 fps using Cinema tools or something like it and not have to slow it down in FC.

Can't afford the $1K price tag for Cinema Tools.  It would be cheaper just to buy 2Ti or even a 3Ti instead of the 3T I was considering.  Then I'd have 24p without any extra post work.\

What version of Final Cut do you have?
