FIR is used for initial install. If able please link a video showing your cam's error.

NunoCaldeira

ok. will do a video. 15 minutes

NunoCaldeira

heres the video, activating and deactivating the functions that work and the ones that doesnt.

Walter Schulz

You're in playback mode, not liveview mode, aren't you?

NunoCaldeira

yes i am in playback. it does work on liveview, not just in playback

NunoCaldeira

sorry...my bad...just realized i had to press the top LCD light button to trigger that function to be displayed on playback mode :(. Sorry guys for making you waste time. Thanks for the support and for working on ML.

Has anyone had any issues installing ML on any brand new 6D with 1.1.6 preinstalled? I have 2 6D's one came with 1.1.4 installed and ML installed fine once downgraded to 1.1.3. But on the other 6D it downgrades fine but when trying to install ML it won't allow me to, it begins but slows and starts to count the percentage up to 3% then says failed, remove battery. Anyone else come across this issue? Patch maybe?

Walter Schulz

Download firmware 1.1.3 again. Use http://pel.hu/eoscard for downloading. Install Canon's firmware again.
Format card using a cardreader. Format card again using your cam. Download nightly build once again. Copy extracted nightly build contents to card. Retry installation. Results?

Good Day. I wonder is the there a video or a positing that demonstrates the maximum settings or functionality that can be achieved with ML and the Canon 6D with version 1.1,3.    i ask because i have seen video with Magic Zoom activated (green) on the 6D and i am unable to active this function. I have also seen a video with what i believe was also the 6D with a different Dispay Menu system with all the item at the bottom of the screen. I have also seen Temp viewable. Therefor it would be awesome to know how to maximise ML on the 6D and what ML items are not compatible.

Thanks in advance Simon

Magic zoom works for me.
But it is mutually exclusive with crop mode.

If magic zoom and other stuff is visible on the 6d screen depends on the status of the "info" button.
Every time you press the "info" button, you see more or less stuff on the display.
This also works without Magic lantern, you can see a histogram and level meter etc...

Magic lantern can only put stuff on your screen if you have no "standard Canon" stuff in on the display, push the "info" button as many times before you see magic lantern stuff in the display, for example RAW histogram or battery level, or magic zoom (push the magnify button).

Update on 1.1.6 support

Back LCD is displaying now (Canon menu only)
ML seems to run but doesn't show up on the back LCD yet (trash button brings up an unresponsive Canon menu, only to disappear after a few seconds)
bmp_printf seems to be displayed correctly.

Full 116 support is not too far away now :)

I can not decompress files raw magic lantern . Now try other programs. Help me please

My 6D was temporarily bricked with the latest nightly build(3.29). The software will function for about a minute, then I receive a blue screen from magic lantern that says my camera is bricked. It is not usable until I remove the battery and replace the SD card with a non ML card. Has anyone else experienced this?

Walter Schulz

And a happy April Fools Day to you.

Maqs

Hello everybody,

without knowing that JLL is already working on a 6D.116 port, I did a little work myself.

The resulting source code can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/Maqs/magic-lantern/branch/6D.116

Seems to be running so far, but as I am rather a hacker than a user, I could be missing something.  Read this as: please test! ;)

For those of you how want to try the 6D.116 work-in-progress:

Some modules may not work, as they check explicitly for 6D.113.

There may also be bugs. The usual disclaimers apply.

For those of you finding bugs in the 6D.116 image, please send me a private message here or ping me on IRC.

Use crop marks. Alex fixed framing on 6D only for 1792.

6D raw-video (MLV) magiclantern-Nightly.2015Mar29.6D113

Pressing the zoom-button after starting the record let the camera hang. I have to remove the akku. This happens to both, cropped and uncropped mode.
No error-log.

If it hangs on the magnify button, while recording, has to do with global draw settings.

In the overlay tab set the Global Draw setting to -> On, all modes
And within the raw video menu set the Global Draw setting to -> Allow (I believe if this setting is set to off, then it hangs...)

Enabling GD in MLV-Menue let the cam hang, too.
It´s interesting. If the cam hangs, I can turn it off. The mirror jumps back. But the frozen picture on the LV-monitor stays.
