Riseing Shutter count on install of ML

   HI there   
      Has any one ever had there shutter count rise on the instalation of ML. I know the shutter count was 6927 roughly as i checked on my pc,with Astro the night before finding out about ML. After install of ML it said 9500 on the screen.I was shocked. Only thing i can think of is the camera is on continuous file numbering and the last couple of images loaded to the computer from the card read image no 3006.(ML has added the card file number to the shutter count .) This has happened on a 50d  with a lexar professional 8gb 300x speed cf card. Both these items i purchased new and i am the only user of them. I did format the card and install the canon update first , then format again and install ML to the camera.
      I have since removed ML from the camera loaded some images that i took and the image nos are reading 3076 and shutter reading of 9930 with astro.
       Does any one have any info on this or know why it happen.
