Using hdmi as webcam

I want to use a dslr as a live video capture device in order to use it with "resolume avenue" and add effects in real time to glow poi preformances. I saw there is an hdmi output from canon cameras that the ML has a clear mode for it and possebly a clean uncompressed hdmi output chance in the future. My questions are:
Can you configure an input hdmi as an input device assuming you have hdmi input port? (through an laptop extention card)(can it act like a webcam?)
What is the fps on the live view output through hdmi? Can it reach 30?
Can i set the output to 640x480?
Will anything i see is availabe on the ML for 5d be available on the t3i?
Is there any dslr with simple webcam option?
And last- does anyone know the professional term fore webcam capability? I'm looking for better search keywords then "webcam"
