Birds-Motion Detect - Frame Diff - Trigger 8 and above
« on: December 04, 2012, 07:36:25 PM »
Here are samples of motion detect images that ML captured using my 600D. Southern Colorado near Pueblo. Lots of cacti and scrub brush where I was staying at an off the grid cabin where my friends live. Setup to capture birds drinking in their bird bath and got some interesting images. Here are a couple that show common Robins, a thrush.

What type of lens and settings did you use?

Here are exact details
Manual Mode
Tv( Shutter Speed )   1/1000
Av( Aperture Value )   4.0
Metering Mode   Evaluative Metering
ISO Speed   200
Lens   EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
Focal Length   65.0mm x1.6

Frame Diff, Trigger level 8 and above. Manual preset focus. Using auto focus results were unsatisfactory, at least with that lens and situation. I was overall very pleased with the motion detect capabilities.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that on mine. I haven't been able to get such good results yet.
