Manual Mode not working in Movie mode

Hi Guys,
Just installed ML for the first time. This afternoon I was filming at the beach and even though I was in Manual mode on my 5dMkII when in movie mode the aperture skyrocketed up to f22 and the shutter speed dropped to 100-250 and the ISO kept changing.  I had set the camera to f4, 1/1000, ISO 100.

Can anyone suggest what was happening? 

I ended up putting in a non-ML CF card and still it was overriding my manual settings until I power cycled it a few times and went through the menus a few times.

Does ML warn you about this? You are probably in photo display mode.
