Is it possible to shoot a sun rise/set with FPS override?

By this I mean whether it is possible to somehow have properly exposed frames, when dealing with changing lightning?
Also if I want to go at about 1fps - what can be done to darken the scene except setting the aperture to max value (f22) and overriding the ISO to 25?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

It may work with FPS ramping (in nightly builds). Never tried.

You can use an ND filter to darken the scene

Would it work on a constant value (without changing/adjusting)?
Also any tips on what type/brand should I get?

I will potentially look into the nightbuild, but later - right now, I don't think I know enough about the camera and especially ML to get into the nightbuild
