You need to compile build from a last source or you can feel free an use build compiled by me here.
Set a boot flags an your SD and extract zip to SD. Works very well.
And please diligently and extensively report the bugs ;)

i just tried your build. thanks for the compile.

bugs:
1. one crash when i set the picture style in magic lantern menu, (the camera goes crazy)
Code: [Select]
ASSERT: 0
at ./Capture/Capture.c:509, task EventMgr
lv:0 mode:3
Magic Lantern version : v2.3.NEXT.2013May28.650D101
Mercurial changeset   : 87906563dde1 (unified) tip
Built on 2013-05-28 11:44:35 by root@magiclantern-VirtualBox.
Free Memory  : 106K + 3457K

2. when i turned the lcd the face tracking focus is mirrored (only with magic lantern)

and for RAW video
1280x720: goes until 271 frames with a sandisk 45MB/s
1728x972: 38 frames
1440x810:83 frames
1320x742: 112

aspect ratio 3:2
1728x1152: 24 frames
1600x1066:38 frames
1440x960: 46
1280x854:103

aspect ratio 1.1
960x960: 373
1280x1158:43

aspect ratio: 2.35:1
1728x736:65 frames

aspect ratio 3:1
1728x576: 159 frames

and the most important thing: for now every raw video i shot gives this pattern of dots:

The pattern is something I am working on. I'll probably provide a test build that dumps a couple of raw frames with different settings to decide which one looks better

About screen being mirrored : there's a setting n ML menu that changes that behavior :D

And the speed you're getting are fine. The controller isn't that good

So there is no chance of getting higher res of RAW becuz of the controller?

i thought the 14bit is too much for me actually even if it is quite good for professional work. but, not necessary for me

I'm not sure how Nanomad feels on this, but this thread is for testing the public pre-Alpha 2, not a privately compiled build. Posting bugs on own-compiled things is sort of irrelevant when the current pre-alpha has been released. I would think a better way of discussing the current changes to ML would be through PM or on the IRC.

Also, it's worth noting that having props disabled, which enables all the stuff in ML, is potentially dangerous as that's mainly where the bugs haven't been ironed out.

This stage of prealpha, nanomad/devs has probably long since completed.
Maybe this is better for him that people can test the latest changes, detect and report the bugs.
But a developer has to decide themselves.

Typically, a developer will not release source until he has tested them.
I speak from experience because I'm a paranoid developer and treat my source very carefully ;D

I'm fine with people posting builds. It's free software, you can do whatever you want with the source code :P.
As I said, I've got the raw video pixels thing to sort out before I'll relase anything myself but feedbacks and bug reports are more than welcome. Just remember to state the commit the binary is based on (you can see it inside the debug menu)

@satriani:
your build enables the hdr bracketing for more expos?
and if yes, this build can bricked my camera?

most exciting thing for me the hdr bracketing, but this one missed for prealpha :)
but i dont want a brick :)

As a general rule:

Code: [Select]
    ***************************************************
          *                                                 *
          * THIS IS DANGEROUS AND MIGHT DAMAGE YOUR CAMERA. *
          *  NO WARRANTIES.  NO GUARANTEES.  DO NOT TAUNT.  *
          *                                                 *
          ***************************************************

If you are not comfortable with this, stop reading and delete the
software before you are tempted to try running it on your camera.

Please read the user guide carefully before installing this software.

To repeat this important point:

          ***************************************************
          *                                                 *
          * THIS IS DANGEROUS AND MIGHT DAMAGE YOUR CAMERA. *
          *   IF IT BREAKS, YOU GET TO KEEP BOTH PIECES.    *
          *                                                 *
          ***************************************************

Excuse me, but why the 29 may version doesn't boot up? I put it in my camera, but it doesn't allow to boot up. Can turn on my camera after removng SD card and battery. The first version of ml 650d is working on other card, any solution? And it boots up without card.

Which may 29th version?
Don't just state the date, link the download too.
And no, "official" nightly builds don't work on the 650D... there's no 650D in the file name.

Oh, sorry didn't notice about that it is missing 650D, that must be the problem, is there any newer version for 650d than the first one? I had one, but i've lost it. It was posted in this topic, but i can't find it anymore.

In that which i were using there wasn't Raw could someone please provide me last version before RAW?  That would be realy nice. In that version which i were using there were like small icons near options which shows like magic zoom loction or other thing place or so,ething associated with that feature. That was really usefull. Sorry for mistakes.

most of the features work fine BUT operating with ML settings under Liveview mode may cause a crash,just remove the battery and the card then wait a moment it'll be ok

the RAW video recording could be set to around 1732*1150 or some values else but was limited to 1280*720 to work just ok with 1 skipped within every 300 frames on a sandisk 45MB/s SD card

you can check the detailed test carried out by someone above

i will update some other reports when i come back

Nop, that isn't the correct version. There were small icons beside features which showed like location and that stuff, it was very usefull, it was newer version than this. Could you provide the RAW version, that would be really good.

Hey guys, been testing Satriani's build and I have some notes...

2.35:1 1440 x 614 23.973fps recording with NO skipped frames at all...  That is, until I hit the 4.29 gb barrier. ;) This is with Overlays off and sound options disabled.

Other than the artifacts (which can be hidden/corrected to a degree) it's looking really great! Moire is a nightmare still, but the rainbow swirls can be fixed pretty easily. I've been processing the files into video just to get familiar with the workflow. Using Photoshop to grade and DaVinci Resolve for final polish and convert into 1080p ProRes.

This was done using 16gb UHS-I 95MB/s Sandisk Extreme cards.

Note: You can use the raw2dng tool to process RAW videos. (https://bitbucket.org/hudson/magic-lantern/downloads/RAw2dng.exe)

You will need to download the 2 programs it needs and set up your PATH settings as well.
