Were you able to record longer before havibg ML on the SD card?

Also remove the card from the camera and check what Class your SD card is! To record HD fot longer periods you should have an Class 10 SD card!

Hope that i van be as much assistance as possible even without the Pre-Alpha1! :)
Yes I was able to shoot longer videos without ML.
Card is class 10 sandisk extreme with 45MBs. This shouldn't be a problem.

I assume video recording is still fine without ML?

Geez, I guess I really dodged a bullet. My install went perfect and is still working fantastically. Already a more fleshed out ML than my 5dMkIII Alpha in most ways. No errors or oops's anywhere.

I used Win7 Ultimate (custom compiled version though)
Sandisk Extreme III 8GB (my crappiest card)
Followed directions explicitly

I feel extra lucky because I would have used Mac OS X 10.8.2 on any other occasion but they were all in use and I used my dinky little Win7 laptop to do this install for once.

edit: I will post a detailed list of what's working and not by later tonight or tomorrow if I'm too busy.

Hey nanomad !

I'm new here and I would like first to thank you for everything you did do get a ML port for the 650D.

Here are my review of the pre-Alpha version :

I have got the same issues but the main things works pretty well (I love HDR Video :) )
There is still a little bug (but very easily fixable) : When I rotate the screen, it gets mirrored (The writings are backwards !)
Here is an illustration of what I mean :

Keep up your good work !

Yes indeed. I just filmed the unboxing of my new Nexus 4.

What will be the next step? A closed pre alpha, or another semi open per alpha? Or is it alpha time already. Just wondering at what step of the development we are now. And how I can participate.

No problem, these things happen from time to time. My camera is still very functional just married to the sdcard ;)

thanks nanomad on hard work!

one question: will it be possible to set lower RAW resolution on 650D with ML? (e.g. like on stock Mart II...)

I'm already happy with the limited version of this pre-alpha release.
No issues on my side.
Take your time.

The mirrored text only appears when the screen is flipped to the max. A little turn in both directions and the screen is correct again.

I am just impressed by the high bitrate modes, I recorded 30 minutes with 2,5x bitrate and it splitted the movies in 4GB parts and erverything is just working fine.

EDIT: Found a bug, sometimes the play feature hangs, so you can't switch photos, you have to reenter the play mode to make switching working again.

Maaaaaaan.  Part of me is kiiiiiinda glad I missed out on the pre-alpha so my camera isn't messed up.

However, I'm insanely excited just to get my hands on a working version of ML.

Such a long wait....a long, long wait.

The upside down mode is working fine in my debug build which means it somehow relies on property change. Good to know

i've never use ML before, so i dont know how exactly each feature works, but i think there's something not right in fps override. the outcome video have a bad image. i tried to record at 0.25 speed, it works, the timelapsing, but the image.. it  makes some sort of vertical lines.. however the intervalometer makes a great timelapse! :D :D :D i just dont know how to integrate it with the silent shooting feature, cos i really want to save shutter :P

let me give you the screenshot of fps override x0.25

i also experiencing crashes while doing some fps override tests. and maybe some random(i dont really sure why it crash) errors.
i'll give you the logs.

It would probably work but one of them is hard to decode, the other has a purple cast and won't decode. I tested on 600d and this feature is meh an plays havoc on your worflow as lightroom and all won't import even the working ones.
