Sweet, I'm up and running, Ill start testing and documenting everything today :) Thanks for the amazing work nanomad! Other than the "dont click's" is there anything thing else we should 100% avoid?

nanomad

Don't click me is actually fine to call (it justs saves a debug log)

Yup, I feel like a loser right now!

Good deal.

I'm incredibly tempted to go ahead and try this pre-alpha. I think I'll try my best to at least wait 2 or 3 days to see if there is any serious issues.

Quick question, where to testers post bug report on this pre-alpha? This thread, PM to nanomad, or another page/thread? I want to get involved and is trying to figure out how to do this.

Thank you so much for your hard work!

No audio monitoring because we lack the details of the audio IC used in the camera

I need a volunteer for testing the pre-alpha1 build installation. Keep in mind this may be dangerous. The first one to answer below will receive a PM from me with instructions

If you still looking I'm in.  I'm home everyday and keep my camera right on the coffee table and use it constantly.

I've posted the instructions just after that, go on and test if you accept the risks

done, Just taken the jump. Works fine, did all the custom scripts

  Done, they works fine

Played around with the HDR filming option and that works also fine.

Focus zebra striping etc works as it should. Cant find anything that does not work.

IS there anywhere any debug info that you would like to have?

I second that, Still searching for something that doesn't work :/

Jseeker

First attempt at movie auto-restart failed ( after 29:59 everything stopped). Trying again. All other movie features seem to work.

I hope you won't find it :)

Check if HDR bracketing works. If it does, I somehow screwed up the build

FYI - I am tracking this thread closely, having my T4i for about a month, now.
Will try the ML firmware this eve and let you'all know how it goes.
Thanks for the dedication to pull this through, wish I could contribute $$ directly.

Note: the not so happy face is the message in the camera, not me

I'm getting the same thing as Blade

Shot a small HDR clip, pretty cool, worked flawlessly

Tried movie-restart 4 times, Different SD cards (16GB and 64GB). Won't restart (can only find HDR in movie menu - no HDR bracketing). First 4 tries at 0.7x rate - Now trying at 1.0X (FW default). will advise. After this I'll run it on my second T4i and see what happens.

After 1st boot up I go to upgrade firmware and let it update, next it goes to the main menu.  Hello World comes up, signature=0x12aeb7b3, enableBootDisk, oops!  In the top left corner in real small print "font addr bad"

What am I doing wrong?  If I try using the camera it seems fine but once it powers down on it's own I find the drive light came back on or right after the sensor clean if I shut it down on my own.

I've reformat and tried about 5 times.

Where am I dropping the ball?

Correct, lens focusing requires props

About bracketing, are you sure it's not in the shoot menu under the name of Adv. bracketing? (no camera here, so I can't check, sorry)

About movie restart, can you check if the "clear overlays when recording" feature works?

I did see that font addr bad too, but it did work... did you put the camera in M on the dial wheel (my error the first time)?
