Discussion for "ML 2025: Midsummer Edition" on the 750D should go here.  GL&HF everybody :)

The first well supported single core Digic 6!  Features include:
- shutter count
- 30 min LiveView timer disable (webcam / HDMI out sleep prevention)
- intervalometer
- custom cropmarks
- various debug features

There's much more to add to this cam, but it's a solid start.

Hi!

I created an account on this forum for the express purpose of thanking you all for working towards making magic lantern available for the 750D. I remember checking many years ago if there was compatibility with it, and I pulled mine out of the closet literally just two days ago to have it live a new life as my webcam.

Speaking of — Do y'all know if clean HDMI output whilst retaining autofocus capabilities is something that's on the roadmap?

Thank you again, super glad to see new life breathed into this project and I wish you all the best.

Thanks - I'm always glad if the work helps anyone!

Re autofocus, can you give me more info?  I'm far from an expert on using all of these cams (I do own a 750D).  I'm not aware of what these changes in AF capability are re HDMI.

750D has "Hybrid CMOS AF III".  From memory I think this will mean it uses the mirror path for some of the focusing.  If I'm right about that, the focusing will have to be different when LV is active, probably significantly worse.  Dual Pixel AF doesn't have this limitation.

I understand this as a question of if we will have a proper clean HDMI output in the future. Now you can fake it by toggling off Canon overlays, but the focus one stays on screen if you have AF enabled.

Answer is: We know at least two ways how to do it, but it is not integrated into codebase yet :)
Too many Canon cameras.
If you have a dead R or RP mainboard (e.g. after camera repair) and want to donate for experiments, I'll cover shipping costs.

Ah the AF box thing, that makes sense!

In that case, yeah, it's planned.  Our finest graphics subsystem minds are considering the problem.

Thank you both! Yes, Kitor is correct - I'm referring to the fact that there's no way to disable the AF box/indicator by default on those models.

Thrilled to hear that it's possible at all, and i look forward to seeing a future release include this feature !

Thanks again, all the best to y'all ;)

Yipppppeeeeeeee! Thank you so much for the hard work. The thing I would really like if possible is focus stacking / bracketing. It's to seem add to most of the other builds. I don't know that that's makes it easy to move across or not.

Thank you so much again for your hard work.

:) perfekt maybe my 750d gets an upgrade!

This is really awesome stuff, thank you! Is raw video at all feasible on this model in the future?

All the best

We've got a very crude version of raw video out of 7D2, another Digic 6 cam.  I would expect it to be possible on 750D.
