If possible zip contents of ML\SETTINGS dir/folder, upload it somewhere and link it here.

You have applied settings as shown in Bilal's Walkthrough video linked in first post of this thread?

I have this snapshots https://imgur.com/a/23AMi0f nothing fancy but tried same settings on the last build on magiclantern page and then no freeze issue will upload settings from camera later

Walter Schulz

I'm convinced you did not apply settings shown in Bilal's build because he does not use MLV_REC module.

I strongly suggest to revisit Bilal's Walkthrough video and apply seen settings first. Try to record. If problem persists: Come back with some snapshots and a link to zipped ML\SETTINGS dir/folder.

Something about digital zoom is on? I cannot turn off auto focus for when shooting in raw

I would suggest to put your issue to our discord server and add some* additional information.

* More like "a lot of information what your are talking about and procedures to reproduce your issue including substantional bits about the cam, the build, the settings you're using" ...

Any fixes available for the EOS M2 where on video mode the preview is frozen unless you switch between photo and video like 20 times?

Asking twice won't help - you'll have to be patient and wait for Bilal to read this.

I suspect he doesn't have the time to make changes to the M2, but that's up to him to decide.

Ahh

Thx!!

Dreammaker

Thank you for your amazing work!

Here are my notes comparing the kiss x6i and eos m2 using ML Crop Mood in a production:

Kiss x6i occasionally will have a functioning shutter speed control in ML, and I had been trying to replicate the conditions where this is possible. It was after this production that I came to the solutions presented in my previous post in this thread about the shutter speed fix.
Eos m2 shutter speed worked well.

Bluetiful was filmed at 1/29 shutter speed, f1.4 35mm, 23.983 fps, 4512x2538 10 bit lossless, kiss x6i.
Dreammaker was filmed with the eos m2 at 22.153 fps, 1/56 shutter speed, f1.8 21mm, 4512x2538 10 bit lossless.
[Despite the low-light set, on the eos m2, the shutter speed was increased to better see the guitar technique, and the aperture stopped up to increase the depth of field to capture a wider range of movement towards the camera.]

CinemaDNG lossless direct conversion from the eos m2 .mlv files yielded desync'd audio and video, and I did not successfully align the takes to the audio.
Prores 422 hq rendered directly from MLV App yielded perfectly synchronized audio and video to the other tracks.

kiss x6i required manual removal of 14 bad pixels.
M2 did not display any bad pixels in mlv app.

DaVinci Resolve did not yet support all frame rates, or even 22 fps, however issues using 22.153 fps video were not noticeable, even with fast cuts on either a 23.97 fps or 29.97 fps timeline.
[The single brief stutter on Bluetiful's medium-shot later in the video was an intentional edit.]

The video here is on a 29.97 fps timeline & rendered at 29.97, with all video having been taken at 22 or 23.97 fps.
It also looks great on the 23.97 timeline, however 29.97 is currently required by the TV station this was submitted to.

Overall, I'm grateful this is one of the closest films to my intended vision and satisfying results that I've achieved, so far.
Thanks again to all the brilliant contributors!
