IS was a lifesaver for a handheld focus pull at maximum closeup on the tiny redwood bud!

watch in 4k to bypass youtube quality degradation...

Hi! What focal length it was? And why didn't you use software stabilization on top? I think it can provide almost steady picture with this high-resolution footage.

focal length was 12 inches.

i actually like a bit of movement when doing a focus pull, plus the branches are moving in the wind...

most of all, i'm just too lazy to do software stabilization!  :P

:)

beautiful..
5d3 is amazing, I think using tripod will help when shoot macro and no need software stabilization.
are you using davinci or mlvapp for grading?

if there is a wind then tripod won't help.. all those branches are moving anyway.

focal length was 12 inches.
I mean what mm lens have you used? 12 inches = 300mm?

I used resolve for grading.  i use MLVFS for instant grading.  put the card into the reader, and a few clicks later it's ready to edit and grade!  Outputting to NV-HEVC is ridiculously fast.  in this case, from camera to uploading graded video in a few minutes...

the lens used is sigma 105mm F/2.8 IS.
300mm focal distance for 1:1

recently I migrate to resolve.. but still use the old way, mlvapp - resolve workflow lol..
btw, can I have some sample clips of your video to try?
thanks.

my internet connection is quite slow here in the forest so i can send you some frames if that is ok for you?
it sometimes takes a day to upload a compressed hevc to youtube...

ML700D

I appreciate it.. thanks.
