My 50D does not autofocus in Live view

I have installed ML twice and both times things seem to work, except for:
    When in LV my 2 lenses stay on manual focus.  With LV off the autofocus works.  Is this normal?
    When I push the AF-ON button the camera shutter fires.  When I push * nothing happens.

Have you checked the custom settings from Canon menu to see if anything has changed? That's where the button configuration is saved.

Out of LV the buttons work ok.  I reset the camera before installing ML
