Canon EOS R5C

Cinema version of the R5, called Canon EOS R5 C/R5C/R5c, is coming at in 40 hours, 19th jan 2022, 12pm London. Canon Europe live here:

Rumored specifications from Canon Rumors

• 45mp full-frame sensor (Same as the EOS R5)
• DIGIC X
• IBIS
• Canon Log 3
• Canon Log 2 is still being discussed
• No Internal NDs
• Unlimited 8K30P recording in Cinema RAW Light. XF-AVC and MP4
• Timecode in/out
• The same multipurpose hot shoe as the EOS R3. Which will work with accessories such as the Tascam XLR module.
• Active cooling
• 3/8″ or 1/4″ mounting point on the EVF for a top handle that won’t interfere with the hot shoe.
• Full-size HDMI Port
• The LCD has been moved further back to accommodate the cooling fan. So this likely means that it won’t recess into the body like the Canon EOS R5.

I think this is the last camera that I still like Magic Lantern on the Canon 5D Mark III more. It even still uses similar batteries.

For photo mode this camera uses some sort of canon r5 firmware.
For video mode this camera uses some sort of cinema line C70 firmware.
Further the camera needs several seconds to switch between photo and video mode.
So wondering, is this camera actually using 2 different firmwares and switches between them when switching modes (or is it packed within one firmware ?) ?

Also wondering, is it running both firmwares on the same Digic X processor ?
Or did Canon put an extra DIGIC DV7 processor in there, not likely

I think we have to wait for some R5C owner really wanting to know and running some ROM dumps.
