Hello all,
I've been processing some high resolution 1x3 RAW video clips, yet they all come out far muddier than expected, and the loss of detail is severe when compared to 1x1 crop recording (2880x1206), unlike the minor quality loss some have described. What is the best algorithm for desqueezing/stretching this anamorphic video so that detail is retained?

Topaz video enhance ai was a savior for 1x3 videos for me

"the best" is personal preference I think..
for me MLVapp is more than enough, I use 1x3 binning too with no problem.

here is my sample video that I made using 1x3

My findings, from worse to best:

bilinear <- worse
bicubic
lanczos
avir <- best

Speed, from fast to slow (on CPU) :

bilinear <- fast
avir
bicubic & lanczos <- slow

Correct. In earlier versions you could select between the other algorithms. But avir was by far superior at a very good speed.
