EOS 1200 Takes a Picture every hour on video mode
« on: March 06, 2021, 08:18:26 AM »
Hey :)
I'm using my EOS 1200D (Rebel T5) as a capture camera on my PC via OBS with Magic Lantern running on it.
It's working fine, but every hour the camera takes a picture automatically and interrupts the video for a few seconds.
I've checked all the settings and everything seems fine, including the intervalometer, which is off.
Any ideas on how to stop this please? :)
Thanks!

I suppose your description is wrong (or we have a bug).
With ML default settings (and without ML) streaming via USB with EOS Utility (not EOS Webcam Utility) or HDMI capture card will get interrupted every 30 minutes. It is not because it is taking a pic but because 30 minute timer run off and ML is restarting streaming session automatically.

If you are using latest nightly build for 1200D you should use these settings:
Sticky Half-shutter OFF
Prefs tab -> PowerSave in LiveView -> 30-minute timer Disabled

My description was wrong indeed.
The Sticky Half-shutter was OFF, but the timer was enabled in PowerSave in Liveview. I thought I looked everywhere.
I've just updated the settings. I'll update the thread if it goes on, but I doubt it will.
Thanks a lot Walter!
