Not exactly very fresh news: Samsung announced updates to EVO Select and EVO Plus back in April.
https://news.samsung.com/us/samsung-announces-new-evo-select-evo-plus-microsd-cards-improved-speeds/
Lots of marketing magic spells included as expected.

Suffix is "S", same as for 2023 PRO Plus. We don't have tested 2024 edition EVO Select and EVO Plus yet. Prices are not as competetive as predecessors.
Updated wiki sheet with blanks.

Speed Test: Lexar Silver Plus mSDXC UHS-I 256GB
R205/W150
Product Number: LMSSIPL256G-BNANU (030972-V30-256BH A,  written behind the Card)
MDT: 2024/04
PRV: 2.1

Highest CropMood speed reached for a 1 minute Clip (Peak Orange): 93.4 MB/s @ 2.8k/14bits
Highest CropMood speed reached for "Continuous"  (Steady Green): 82.2 MB/s @ 2.8k/14bits
Highest CropMood speed reached for a 15 seconds clip (Red Speed): 96.1 MB/s @ 2.8k/14bits
240MHz / SDR50 (Won't work with SDR104)

Card has been formatted in camera (EOS M), moved to a Mac to copy the CropMood files, then back to the camera to make it bootable.

The testing method is outlined here: https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=25841.msg245694#msg245694

This time, I recorded 300+ GB worth of tests.

30 Seconds: 94.4 MB/a
90 Seconds: 93.4 MB/s
4 Minutes : 91 MB/s (I stopped the recording myself)

In the Red Zone, above 93.5 MB/s, the recording times can vary greatly with the slightest change in brightness. I reported the lowest average values. When hitting a longer duration than expected at a particular setting, the next recording will give a "Frame Order Error" and stop early (For example, at 94.4 MB/s, the average is 30 seconds, but the cam will occasionally go up to 90 seconds; in which case the next recording would give a frame order error).
I have observed similar behaviour with some other cards, also when in the high Red Zone.

But around 91 MB/s, the cam is then in a steady Orange state and will often briefly go into the Green zone. I stopped myself at 4 minutes, and recorded 5 takes in a row. At this data rate and below, the recording times are consistent.
More testing would be required to establish if 91 MB/s is "Continuous" (A member of the Facebook Group reported 10 minutes takes @ 93 MB/s, unspecified resolution).

I am under the impression that if Card-Specific overclocking profiles were crafted, we'd be able to squeeze some more speed out of the best cards.

This is the fastest card I have tested so far. And the price is fair (25-30% more than a Samsung Evo Plus), considering the performance it gives.
@ 23.876 fps, You can record 2.8k 1:1 2.39:1 14 bit Comfortably, and 12bit in a near continuous state.
You will also be able to record 3k 1:1 / 5.2k 1x3 2.39:1 12 bit in most cases, if you apply the exposure method I suggested in a previous post.

Here's a list of the cards I have tested so far:

Great! I'm planning to get the 512GB and try it out. Have you had a chance to check it yet?

gabriielangel

No, the 512GB and 1TB Variants are unavailable in my area.

Yeah, same here. I ordered the 512GB from Amazon.com, and the earliest it'll arrive is 9/17. Maybe someone in the US can test it sooner.

I wonder which ML cameras can recognize cards larger than 256 GB.

Walter Schulz

All of them but 500D. This is valid for Digic 4 and up.

A card arrived from Amazon.com, all the way across the ocean.
I tested it with the EOS M2. Here are the CropMood settings I always use:

Preset: 4.2K
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Framerate: 23.976 FPS
Bit-depth: 12-bit

Using Samsung EVO Plus 512GB (MB-MC512KA/EC, which started selling in Japan in 2021), 12-bit is the limit. When set to 14-bit, recording lasts for a maximum of about 30 seconds, often stopping even sooner. The same issue occurs with  Sandisk Extreme Pro 256GB (SDSDXXD-256G-GHJIN).

After switching to Lexar Professional Silver Plus 512GB, I found I can record at 14-bit for more than 5 minutes without any issues. Even after 5 minutes, recording continues smoothly without errors.
The margin is around 2% to 3%. Since it's nighttime here, increasing the room lighting to the maximum drops the margin to 1%, but recording still keeps going without stopping.

The write speed is around 81 MB/s. Once daytime comes, I plan to test recording under strong sunlight to see how it performs in a real-world environment. I hope this test will be useful.

I took the Lexar Professional Silver Plus 512GB (LMSSIPL512G-BNANU) out into the midday sunlight.

In conclusion, I was able to record at 14-bit, something that was impossible with other SD cards. The Lexar Professional Silver Plus is definitely worth purchasing. Thank you.

Preset: 4.2K
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Framerate: 23.976 FPS
Bit-depth: 14bit

When the exposure was too high, causing the sky to become overexposed, the write speed exceeded approximately 88MB/s, causing the recording to stop immediately.

After adjusting the aperture to avoid overexposure, the write speed remained around 85MB/s. The red warning occasionally appeared, but I was able to record for over 20 minutes without any errors or interruptions.
(With the Sandisk Extreme Pro or Samsung Evo Plus, recording did stop immediately under these conditions.)

Felipe

Question: About the Lexar Silver plus 256, should I expect same write speed on my 700D as on EOS M? Thanks to any one who could Answer.

In fact The Lexar silver plus 128 has better performance, this is my test:
This is made for a tv commercial requiring 1080 16x9 30p.
Shot with a 700D, Lexar Silver plus micro sd with adapter 128 G.
Previously With Sandisk 256 Extreme pro 256G, 200 MB/S version was capable to record at 12 bit around 3 to 4 seconds,
with this lexar 128 silver plus micro SD with Kill Global Draw Recorded for several minutes,
THAT IS GREAT.!!! Thank you for the valuable information.
In the future will try the 256G version but it should not make any difference.

I think that this same test could be pushed to 14 bit with the standar size SD Lexar Silver plus.
Again has to be tested but probably the adapter reduces writing speed.

Probably not.

After testing the 256G Lexar Silver plus micro can confirm that has exactly the same performance than the 128G
Version, And that is a much better performance than the Sandisk Extreme Pro 200.

I was able to get 16x9 1080 30p 14 bit uncompressed RAW  for several minutes
enabling small hacks ALL
This is just crazy, screams image quality Thank you!!
