@Danne,
Is there anything us users can do to help develop a larger real time preview for the 4k rewired anamorphic?
Also, can we help test regs for eliminating the focuspixel field? Or is that a lost cause?

@berechiah
A little bit better regarding FPS override. It will still show wrong when set in mcm mode but it will apply faster canon shutters anyway.

You tell me what you can do to help?
If you don´t know how to use adtg_gui I suggest you start learning how to use it. If you ask for what to look for, I don´t know. If I knew it would already be fixed right?
There´s no shortcut into this. If you mean serious help please spend a year or so trying to solve this, starting with what already has been discussed on the topic. Good luck!

is there anyway to fix fps override in 3k mode. When ever I set it to 18 fps the preview is scrambled.

Danne

Increase reg_6014 in crop mode sub menu, select framing preview. Report back.

lightspeed

Yes it works when you do it that way. And that's how I have been doing it but I have to change it every time I turn on the camera. If I could use FPS then it would save the setting I believe

Danne

Find this part in crop_rec.c:
  if (ratios == 0x1 || ratios == 0x2)
  {
    switch (reg)
    {
/* will change to 19fps for continous action */
        case 0xC0F06804: return 0x5190310 + reg_6804_width + (reg_6804_height << 16); /* 3008x1280 19fps  x5 Mode(2.35:1) */
        case 0xC0F0713c: return 0x519 + reg_713c;
        case 0xC0F07150: return 0x514 + reg_7150;
        case 0xC0F06014: return 0x7cd + reg_6014;
    }
  }

Change:
        case 0xC0F06014: return 0x7cd + reg_6014;
to:
        case 0xC0F06014: return 0x839 + reg_6014;
Then comppile for your camera.

Thanks Danne for that today. It works perfectly now. Really appreciate your help.

- Reworked 4k, increased height
- Timelapse presets. Only active in conjuction with 4k preset. Timelapse option allows also for 5k.

On eosm timelapse or reduced fps works also with FPS override and then you´ll get shutter blanking included too. This works through crop rec with 100D straight in crop_rec.c but not with eosm, go figure. So eosm timelapse from crop rec will be slow shutter only. If you have no idea what I´m talking about just grab a beer and start playin´ 8)

here's a few clips, 4k anamorphic, only changed aspect ratio to 16:9 and set 25fps, 1064x1800 resized to 4k, very "clean" videos only selected 3x3 smooth in mlvapp and it was ready to go, @Danne where's the aliasing now? :)
watch in 2k or 4k resolution

I'm on 7th June build and 4k anamorphic mode at 16:9 gives a res of 1064x1975. I could only get that resolution (1064x1800) when setting the aspect ratio to 5:3. Did something change between builds?

Danne

1120x1900 when set to 16:9
Above mode becomes 1064x1800 when bitdepth is set to 12bit.

Never mind, i seem to be getting good results with setting the ratio to 1:2 in raw vid module and 16:9 in crop rec. I get 1120x1900 which expands to 3360x1900 which i guess is '4k'.

ah just saw your reply too. :) cheers danne.

Danne

4k with 2.35:1 preset.

Don't touch the ratio tab in raw video. Instead set it to maximum or run the cinema lua script and then choose the ratio presets in crop mode sub menu.

Hey Danne
many thanks for the shutter speeds which were not available with fps override before!
I've noticed this by accident in some may version. I could then for the first time use FPS override with shutter speeds much quicker (1/100 sec for example) at 2.5 fps.
This is awesome!
I've tested the June 04 version extensively and have not had a single corrupt frame in some 70+GB of footage.
Many many thanks for Your incredible efforts and work!

p.s. made with Danne's experimental build

Danne

No corrupted frames. Sounds great. Keep up the good work and tests.

berechiah

Hi Danne
Just did some video today.
I can set any shutter speed now regardless what ever u set my fps to.

But it seems if I go past 36 of 30fps i see a distorted liveview

I did every other type if setting to see if it went away
But the live view is pinky and messed up if I go past 36fps

Any ideas ?
Its not so important it is just an update

Danne

If you refer to mcm rewired mode set to 16:9 in crop mode menu and canon fps set to 30fps I can over here set FPS override to 42fps with good liveview.

berechiah

Yes I am in 1080p rewire and I am 37fps all the way to 42fps (40 or 30fps)

and I still see the bad live view

berechiah

I have a bit issue

I used my camera today for a cake smash for my 1year old

I am am looking at the video an I see the focus dots

I had them gone before but they seem to be back again

I am doing my best to find old posts to try to fix it

can anyone help me I am totally at a lost I am 1 hour searching and testing

Danne

What preset used? If you're not using dfort's pixel maps try chroma smooth 3x3.

berechiah

Dose 3x3 soothing make is softer?

I got the files dfort uploaded
I downloaded the Download repository

I copy all the files in focus_pixel_map_files folder its full of .fpm files

I just pasted them into

/Users/admin/Library/Services/mlvfs/contents

I am most likely doing it wrong but it seems to have made it a bit better

Danne

Use your eyes and tools to actually look at the file and be your own judge about softness.

Got it figured out after all.
I went trough the whole form and found step by step instructions how to put the .fpm files in the mlvapp and mlvfs

Also I looked an 3x3 in the mlvapp dose not take away any quality from what I noticed

Sorry its very simple stuff for you guys but it was a great to finally get time to get it sorted.

Thanks for the advice
