Removing Canon 60D's HDMI out top/bottom black bars

I'm trying to get the 1680x1080 (1920x1080 plus black bars on each side) clean HDMI out image everybody seems to get from a 60D, but I'm stuck with a boxed image within a black frame. I guess it's the 2 side black pillars plus top/bottom black bars (the bottom one is wider). I've scoured everywhere for an answer but can't find one.
