Help me fixing Canon 50mm 1.8 II Lens

Hello All
A few days ago I dropped the lens accidentally, this not the first time, after every drop of the lens, the front piece of the lens comes out, I re attaches it and everything will work as before

After dropping the lens the front piece comes out like this:



But last time I dropped it I wasn't so lucky, I got this message from Canon:



-Of course all contacts are clean and I am sure nothing wrong with them

And this what happens inside the lens:

The Aperture motor is faulty, stucked?

or there is something not in the right place, like this: (Edit: No, it's in right place)


I can open up/close down the aperture manually by hand . . and the focus ring is okay . .

I am gonna appreciate any help from you!

Buy one on amazon then send it back "these guys sold me a broken lens!!!" 


Or you can take apart the new one and use those parts and return it with older parts

Nah don't do that. I'm just trolling (or am I?). You can possibly convert it to a manual focus only lens? Or you can just spend the $45 and get the yongnuo version of that lens which is the exact same thing.

Maybe you should check all solder joints (on chips, etc) and ribbon cables inside the lens? It could be a loose connection/cold solder

I'd put it back together neatly in one piece, quick wipe or clean and sell it as is / for parts.

Same thing happened to my 50mm STM Nifty Fifty, sold it for parts $50. Guess somebody had hopes of fixing it.

I've completely fixed a broken 50mm 1.2L before, but this STM was a difficult piece of plastic.

Currently this is the only option, that's what I will do, but I can't change the aperture outside the lens, only from the inside, it's okay, I uses this Lens usually at 2.2 Aperture.

Well, it could be difficult to spot a broken solder connection, sometimes only reflow everything suspicious can fix it... Depending on your skills, I would advise you to check signals with oscilloscope or logic analyzer to see if the camera is actually trying to speak with electronics, and so on.

Currently I am unable to reach out to these devices "oscilloscope or logic analyzer", maybe in future, my skills are that not bad, but didn't experienced reflowing electrical components before, but I have background how to do it. Thank you very much for trying to help!

Maybe I will back to it in near future, I am happy then to receive some advices from you
