Adobe updates Creative Cloud video and audio apps, adds GPU-accelerated encoding, ProRes RAW support and more

Adobe has released updates for a variety of its software products, including major updates to Adobe Premiere Pro. Adobe Premiere Pro version 14.2 includes GPU acceleration for encoding on Windows, promising export speeds up to five times faster than encoding performed using only the CPU.

Adobe has also introduced ProRes RAW support in Premiere Pro and After Effects on Windows, a very welcomed change that's been a long time coming. The graphics workflow in Premiere Pro has also been enhanced through the addition of an improved Pen tool with better support for Bezier curves. This will allow users to more easily create lines and shapes.

Adobe is so shitty that they call "new" a feature that open source community got working 3 years ago on their own software (Voukoder). They keep adding more complexity, without fixing their bugs, crashes and slowness.
It's very unfortunate that I still have to rely on their software.

So far I've tested the new updated After Effects 17.1 in the process of converting DNG's to H.264!!! Since I have two 1080ti's in my build I HAD to try it. I've got some exciting news!

It's STILL painfully slow... maybe even slower than before. Back to Resolve I go!

EDIT: I take that back. I rendered a 19 second clip in After effects and it took 5 minutes. I then rendered that same clip in Adobe Media Encoder and it took 1 minute. That is significantly faster! I think I should probably do a super detailed test.

Hi yes! If you do please share. If the GPU can be used when debayering with Adobe Camera RAW its a big plus. Or if they add Adobe Camera RAW in Premiere Pro would be even better. Once you learn Resolve its not necessary to go back. Two 1080ti is too good to not use at full potential, like you do in Resolve.

I have a 1080ti and Titan X 12gb myself and a other GPU for display so theres quite much power for Resolve to use. I think the editing is very good in Resolve it got much better in 15 and 16.
