Mosiac engineering filter installed on the camera, tested with the kit lens ef-m 18-55 and the ef-m 22mm. MCM rewire, full sensor read out, upscaled to 4k

Aliasing and moire is still present but reduced enough that I dont have to throw away as much footage.

This looks sooo amazing! I'm actually extremely impressed by this. Moire is the only reason I haven't thought about buying the EOS M but this is extremely encouraging!

  • Was it hard to install?
  • Can you possibly share more footage with us? I would LOVE to see actual people as subjects.
  • Where did you find this? Did you get it on ebay? or Did you buy it directly from Mosiac?

1. Thanks! I used a VAF-D800 meant for a Nikon D800 full frame camera since it was the only one I could find used. I removed the plastic trim around the filter and hallowed out the interior plastic of the camera by sanding it down. This way, it fit right in front of the aps-c senor. I also had to sand down a tiny corner of the glass as it barely fit and I already hit the metal frame. Strangely, the 'right' trigger button on the scroll wheel broke today. Some plastic bits feel inside the interior body of the camera, not sure if this caused problems.
2. I will try. At the moment, the camera is broken haha!
3. I bought it used, they are quite difficult to obtain. Couldn't justify paying retail when you can  buy 3 used eos-m's for that price.

First picture is when I mounted it in front of my viltrox speedbooster. However, I really wanted to use my ef-m lens since I wanted an ultra portable setup. I decided to experiemnt on my spare eos-m.
