Hey im using a program called Dragonframe its a Stopmotion software, and here is the specifics for the mark II https://www.dragonframe.com/camera-setup/canon_eos_5d_mark_ii/

My question is can i use Magic Latern to get full HD out via the live view, when this program uses USB as the connection, seems i can only get:

"The Canon EOS 5D Mark II provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 1024 x 680. "

And how would i set it up, if its possible.

Many regards

I am also interested in hearing more about this!  Has there been any updates?  How about for the 7D/5D Mark III?

No, only HDMI output has higher resolution. USB output is limited, AFAIK.

I don't think so. On sparkocam via usb, I can get a 1080p image out of my 5D2. Not sure if it is just upscaled or not but it doesnt look like it. It just looks compressed though

1920 x 1080 x 8 x 30 / 8 = 62.2 MByte/s
Higher than USB 2.0 theoretical bandwidth

-> Sanity test failed. The cam will not let you do this. Period.

Denis at Sparkosoft just confirmed that the application is scaling the images it gets from the camera. He reports that the actual images that the camera can send over the wire are 1056 x 704. This is limited by the firmware in the camera. So beyond that resolution SparkoCam scales the image to the target size. That makes 720p closest to actual resolution off the camera.
