Display OFF during video capture
« on: April 02, 2019, 06:28:40 PM »
I'd like to be able to record video from a tripod (5 year old dance recitals come to mind) without the backlit screen turning on.

1) It's bright and distracting for audience members.
2) It uses battery quicker.
3) The screen is unnecessary when I have a set focal length that won't change.

Is this possible? I have a Canon 6D.

The data transfer blinking light is solved with some tape, but that would be nice to turn off for that specific function.

Thank you.

Prefs tab -> Powersave in LiveView ->
- Enable while recording ON
- Turn off LCD after 5sec

You are indeed a Hero Member. I guess I will try installing MagicLantern after all!

Thank you.
