I tried using a 256GB 1066X card in my 5D Mark II, and even though I could never format the card in-camera, it seemed to be working after I formatted it to FAT 32 on my computer. During a shoot, after about 15 minutes of recording, a skipped-frame notice came up on the LCD, and then the camera said the card was not formatted for the camera.

My computer couldn't read the card either, so I had to format it and then recover the files, which seemed to work. But now I can't convert the recovered MLV files into DNGs using raw2cdng 1.7.9.

No matter what I try, I can't convert the MLV files into DNGs. With "Magic Lantern RAW Video Converter 1.9.1," I was able to see some weird split-up purple versions of a couple stills, but that's it. Any ideas?

Hey. Thanks so much for the response! How do I post an example MLV? Sorry. I'm an idiot about this stuff.

Did you try one of the latest MLV software here from the forum? MLV-Producer, MLVFS, MLVApp, Switch,...

No. So far just  raw2cdng 1.7.9. That's always been my go-to for converting MLV files to DNGs. I used to use Raw2dng back in the day, before MLV RAW became a thing. I'll try to download those and see if any do the trick. Thanks.

MLVProducer is pretty awesome. Never tried it before. It allowed me to open and export the last MLV file, but there are 13 other files, e.g., M00, M01, M02, etc. It only let me view and export 83 frames. The full folder, with all the files preceding the file MLV file (M01, M02, M03, etc) is around 120GB though. I'll try out the other software too. Thanks so much though. It was exciting to export the 83 DNG frames from MLV Producer.

MLV-Producer: MLV-Producer is great, but it's only giving me DNGs for the last MLV file, not M00,M01,M02, etc.

MLVFS: I tried to get MLVFS, but installation was too confusing. I'm running Windows 10, which is maybe why it didn't work. I followed this guy's tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v4EWj0zXDs) and even after like two hours, I couldn't figure it out.

MLVApp: Seems like a good program. It won't really load my raw files though. It gave me the following error screen. (see image).

Switch: I couldn't find the download for windows...

Anyway, I'm thinking of uploading the whole folder to dropbox if anyone wants to give it a shot. It's like 120gb, so I understand if that's a crazy idea, but I'm getting desperate here.

Test Mlv App.
You can also try renaming the extension .M00 and so on to .MLV and see if tha works. See to it that you isolate your test files when testing.

Changing the extension to .MLV was a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. Unfortunately, no luck :(

Here is a version with mlv_dump which might or might not work:
https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/magic-lantern/downloads/mlv_dump.exe

Fix here:
https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=22822.msg206320#msg206320

In cmd you could try:
mlv_dump.exe --relaxed --dng INPUT.MLV

If you are unfamiliar with cmd you could use this version of mlv_dump.exe by replacing the old one inside this scripted windows solution:
https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/batch_mlv/

Download here:
https://bitbucket.org/Dannephoto/batch_mlv/downloads/batch_mlv.zip

Find the old mlv_dump.exe inside the bin folder and replace and run the batch script.
