taping to blackmagic hyperdeck from canon rebel t21 audio and overlay problems

I hooked up a blackmagic hyperdeck to canon t2i and recorded, but when played back had no audio, can magic lantern help in this, also when i record it also records the focus overlay can magic lantern help with this as well so that it wont record the overlay?

Assuming it is over HDMI it will only record the video feed, correct? There is the option to disable all liveview overlays. That will prevent those overlays from being recorded but I think that is the best you can do with an HDMI recorder.

sorry yes it is through HDMI and the option to disable all live view overlays does not exist on the canon Rebel t2i it only offers to turn the grid display on/off.

I misunderstood and thought that you were already using ML. Yes this is possible.
