Probably it was some sort of service firmware.

If I understand well, you didn't run the ML installer yet; in other words, you did not run any of our custom code on this camera. That also means we cannot run anything on it for troubleshooting (as you'd have to run our installer first, from Canon menu). Without any sign of life (LED blinks or whatever), we are unable to help.

I assume you have already followed the troubleshooting steps from the download page (in particular, card and battery doors properly closed). If you can make sure the camera actually powers on (may require an ammeter + a modified power source to check), that would help.

If there are no other options, this or this might be useful (but keep in mind they are unexplored areas).
