If it works like I think it does, the cartoon filter is a prime candidate for developing AF in movie mode. Too bad you will be forced to record using that effect too  >:(

It looks like an edge enhancement filter used for sharpness, so it probably can be replicated easily.

Is there away to add yor own filter effects....I'd like to be able to add my own custom presets or even adjust the ones it comes with. I find no use for the Negative or Cartoon filter and it would be great to either adjust them or swap them out for a different more usable effect.

woa this is great, thanks for sharing a1ex.  I agree that cartoon mode kinda looks like highpass sharpening
