How to Sync Audio

My background is audio and have a home studio but when it comes to audio for video
I get a little confused as to what sample rate to work in.

I need a work flow for shooting Music Video's.

Lets say I have a track ready for video. The track will be 16/44.1hz

On location I play the track and record it on camera with the video.

On camera the track will be recorded at 16/48hz

How do I sync that with the original 16/44.1?

What is usually done in this situation?

At some point you'll need to resample the track so it is 48kHz as video is generally 48kHz or multiples of. It's probably worth doing this now just to get it over and done with. Most DAWs (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools etc.) can do this automatically, create a new project at 16bit/48kHz, and drag the 16/44.1 track into it. You can do it all later and similarly most editing software will automatically resample an audio track. If the track is going to be properly mastered at a professional mastering facility you could get them to do two masters, one at 44.1 & one at 48kHz, using their high quality D/A - A/D converters and low pass filtering (because theoretically some extraneous noise could appear at the top end).
