I heard about magic lantern and I was told it would work on my Canon EOS Rebel t1i. I have loaded it on a clean sd card. Once I go to M function and try to install nothing happens. Can somebody give a guy a hand

Post more detailed info on what you did, have you followed install guide?
I'm using ML2.3 for photography with:
EOS 600DML | EOS 400Dplus | EOS 5D MLbeta5- EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro  - EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM - EF 70-200mm f/4 L USM - 580EXII - OsX, PS, LR, RawTherapee, LightZone -no video experience-

I have done everything by the numbers. I have Firm Ware 1.1.0, Canon is showing new Firm Ware 1.1.1. I have tried to download that and I cannot get it to got. I followed the direction that were posted and Magic Lantern will not install.

You need to update to the Canon firmware v.1.1.1 before installing ML.

Format your card in the camera. Then put the Canon firmware on it (don't put any ML files on it). Go to update firmware in Canon menus to install v. 1.1.1

Then format that card again. Put ML files on card, put card in camera, do Update Firmware in Canon menus again to install ML. Wait for the black screen with green confirmation text. Then restart.
